What Does an Estate Sale Cost?
Most estate sale companies are paid a commission from sale proceeds. The exact rate depends on your estate's value, labor, timing, and extra services — so we provide a written proposal after a free consultation.
How Commission Works
We earn a percentage of the gross merchandise sales. Sales tax collected from buyers is remitted as tax and is not part of the estate's proceeds. After the sale, you receive a settlement report showing gross sales, our commission, any authorized expenses, and your net proceeds.
No hidden fees — every cost is in the written agreement.
Card-processing, advertising, security, hauling, and specialist fees are clearly stated as included or separate.
A minimum fee may apply for small or labor-intensive estates.
We never quote a final rate before evaluating the property.
What Affects the Rate
- Estate value and expected gross merchandise sales
- Volume of items and how organized the home is
- Labor, staffing, and preparation time
- Marketing and advertising reach
- Security and specialty help needed
- Cleanout, hauling, donation, or disposal coordination
- Timing and deadline pressure
This is a planning model, not a published promise. Actual pricing is confirmed in a written proposal after your free consultation.
